Behaviour Modification

Dogs that make your life harder are having a hard time. They may find it difficult to display socially acceptable behaviour simply because they can't. Together, we can identify the underlying reasons, change your dog's emotional response, and improve their behaviour.

These dogs need us to be gentle, patient, and consistent. We will use clear communication, set realistic goals, and earn their trust. By using humane techniques that avoid fear and pain, we can enhance your dog's quality of life.

My Edinburgh based dog training is a 1-2-1 service and held at the location of the problem behaviour(s).

Elsie - Gregor

“Before working with Kai, Elsie had some issues with reactivity towards other dogs. In the sessions, we built up her ability to keep calm, introducing her to new dogs and rewarding her for keeping her cool. We haven’t had a dog before, so the sessions were great for Elsie, and really helped us (humans) to understand what was happening and to feel much more confident. Super worthwhile and is great fun!”

Harrison - Jessie

“Before working with Kai, Harrison found being on the lead really difficult as he’d grown up with the freedom to roam on a big plot of land, so street walks and passing other dogs were a big adjustment. He would often bark out of excitement and frustration, simply wanting to say hello, but it made walks a bit stressful for all of us. After only a few sessions with Kai, Harrison was so much calmer on the lead, his recall had massively improved, and we felt so much closer to him. Kai really got to know Harrison and tailored everything to suit him (and us!), which made all the difference. Walks used to be stressful, but now they’re something we actually enjoy.  We honestly can’t recommend Kai enough!”

Jasper - Sarah&Dave

“We reached out to Kai for help with our rescue dog's reactivity towards other dogs whilst out on walks. He would struggle with passing other dogs on walks, and with off-lead dogs coming into his space. After our sessions with Kai, Jasper has gained so much more confidence and has made brilliant progress in this area. What we love about Kai's approach is that she has a thorough understanding of why Jasper reacts the way that he does, and has given us the knowledge and tools to give him a new perspective. Kai is clear and concise in her explanations, and Jasper loves working with her too. As a high-energy but sensitive rescue dog, Jasper can often be nervous around strangers, but he was at ease with Kai almost immediately. We would highly recommend Kai to anyone who needs a trainer to help with their rescue dog!”
