What to expect…

Edinburgh based Training Sessions:

  • they are 1-2-1 only (although happy for one friend to come along + dog) and in person

  • they are held at the location of your choice/ problem: at home, local park, streets, café

  • I will ask for information about your dog before we meet so I can prepare the session

  • payments due within 7 days of the session either bank transfer or cash on day

  • I use positive rewards like food, toys and environmental reinforcers; food I’ll bring dried liver, fish and gluten free kibble

  • there is only 1 training session per day (except Leith days, coming soon) so sessions can go as long as you like/need and can handle

  • there is a 24 hours cancellation policy, £20 to be paid if cancelled too short of notice

  • any biting history will need to be mentioned prior

  • terms and conditions will be send prior to meeting, making a booking means you agree

  • bullet points will be provided afterwards

  • I always demonstrate first and then let you try, so I can point out any improvements required

My favourite mottos:

  • Meet them where they’re at.

  • Only say it once.

  • If they can’t handle it, they can’t have it.

  • Don’t let them rehearse the behaviour you want to eliminate.

  • Always think of what they should do instead, not just stop it.

  • You wouldn’t work for free. Positive rewards are needed to reinforce behaviour choices.

  • Dogs do what feels good to them at the time.

  • Dogs aren’t being difficult. They are having a difficult time.

“A dog can’t think that much about what he is doing, he just does what feels good.” - Barbara Kingsolver
