Puppy Training
Welcoming a new puppy is exciting, but it also requires careful planning, management, socialisation, and training. To help you raise a confident and well-mannered dog, I cover all the important areas of puppy development.
It’s about teaching new skills as much as preventing future problem behaviours and fears.
Consider what your life will look like with your dog when they are fully grown. What are your expectations, and what behaviours and capabilities are typical for your breed? I can help you navigate these questions and guide you in raising a happy, well-adjusted dog.
My Edinburgh based puppy training will be individual to you and your dogs needs. I can walk you through puppy socialsation, learning and show you training hands on with positive rewards, based on what motivates your puppy.

Harrison - Chris&Jane
“We had a beautiful black lab puppy called Harrison, it was my first puppy although my partner has more experience. We were struggling with recall and his over enthusiasm which caused some destruction. We were recommended Kai by another dog walker and contacted her to help. She was amazing at helping us over a number of sessions, getting Harrison to come back, walk to heal and how to deal with him both outside and in our flats. Her approach is excellent, she both helped us to improve his behaviour and an understanding that what we were going through was normal and would improve. The result is an amazing dog that is so much calmer (although he still has his moments). Kai was excellent and I can’t recommend her enough.”
Coco - Sylvia&Al
“We Booked a few sessions with Kai when our puppy was about 4 months old, to help with his recall and overall training. From the get go we all felt super comfortable around her. Progress could be seen from day one, and her knowledge and understanding of dogs is something that we wish everybody had access to! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve recommended her to people I bump into. She is absolutely brilliant, and in a world full of dubious advice -mostly online-, we would go back to her in a heartbeat if any issues came up - which they did recently, and after just one session the unwanted behaviour was gone with her help! 5 stars “
Dill - Alex&Cerys
“Kai has been an amazing help with our bedlington whippet Dill. We started seeing her when Dill was just 12 weeks and Kai helped us with a huge variety of challenges. We worked a lot on consensual training to get her used to her harness and nail clipping when she had previously been quite scared of both. Kai is very patient and taught us to take everything at Dill’s pace. We also worked on recall and separation anxiety and Kai gave us a huge guide for everything puppy related. Kai gave us lots of tools to work on high arousal as Dill became a naughty teenager and was always around to answer any questions we had. She is very clear when explaining, always kind and reward based and clearly has a lot of experience. Dill loves her and I would strongly recommend anyone looking for puppy training.”

“Using force to change the behaviour and feelings of another sentient being is not power. It is an abject demonstration of one's lack of power.” - Matt Beisner
